The whole game runs on one idea: a plain crop is cheap, but the right mutations turn it into a fortune. Here's how the value math works — and how to use the calculator to sell or trade smarter.

How Crop Value Actually Works

Every crop has a base sell value (at its base weight) and an in-game weight. Final value = base × (weight ÷ base weight)² × one variant × environmental stack. The environmental stack uses diminishing returns: 1 + (m₁−1) + (m₂−1) + … — so two ×2 weather rolls give ×3, not ×4. The variant (Silver/Gold/Rainbow) is a separate single roll and never stacks with itself.

One mutation

A carrot (base 22, base weight 0.275 kg) with Wet (×2) at base weight sells for 22 × 2 = 44. One multiplier, applied as 1 + (2−1).

Stacking

The same carrot with Gold (×20, a variant) and Wet (×2) sells for 22 × 20 × (1 + (2−1)) = 880. Add Chilled (×2) and the env-stack becomes 1 + 1 + 1 = ×3, not ×4 — that's the diminishing-returns effect.

Which Mutations Matter Most

Mutations split into a few buckets, and a few of them move value dramatically:

Weather (×2–×100). Wet, Chilled, Bloodlit, Shocked. Shocked (×100) is the standout — a single weather roll can dwarf every other modifier.

Event (×2–×5). Chocolate, Pollinated, Honey Glazed, Zombified. Easy to catch during events, solid multipliers.

Rarity (×20–×50). Gold (×20) and Rainbow (×50). Rare, high-impact, the ones everyone hunts for.

Order does not change the result — whether Wet or Gold is toggled first, the calculator reaches the same price. Only one variant can apply; every environmental mutation then joins the same diminishing-returns stack.

Crops Worth Farming

Two strategies both work, depending on your goal:

High base, slow

Crops like Starfruit, Candy Blossom, Mushroom start high even with no mutations. A clean one already sells well; mutations just multiply a big number.

Low base, mutation bait

Cheap crops with Shocked or Rainbow can out-earn expensive ones. The multiplier, not the seed price, decides the payout.

Sell or Trade Smarter

Frequently Asked Questions

Do mutation multipliers add or multiply?
The variant (Silver/Gold/Rainbow) and environmental mutations both multiply your value, but environmental ones use diminishing returns: the stack is 1 + (m₁−1) + (m₂−1) + …, so Wet (×2) + Chilled (×2) = ×3, not ×4. A crop with Gold (×20) and Wet (×2) is worth base × 20 × 2 = ×40. That compounding is why rare rolls are so valuable.
Why does my friend's crop sell for more?
Almost always a difference in mutations or weight — often one rare roll like Shocked (×100) or Rainbow (×50) they got, or a much heavier fruit (value scales with (weight ÷ base weight)²). Same crop, very different value.
Are the values on this site official?

Which single mutation is strongest?
Among environmental rolls, Shocked (×100) is the biggest common one. The rare Harmonised Foxfire (×190) can top it. For variants, Rainbow (×50) beats Gold (×20) — these are separate single rolls, not part of the environmental stack.
